Juniko Demonstrates Anxiety-Alleviating Training for Children at Derby Academy Fall Fai

HANOVER, Mass. - Nov. 17, 2017 - PRLog -- In support of its mission to build confidence and crush childhood anxiety, Juniko (www.juniko.com), a fitness and wellness boutique designed around the ancient life practices of martial arts and yoga, recently participated in Derby Academy's Fall Fair, held last month.  The studio, which features classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Yoga, Muay Thai, and other training, offered demonstrations in these arts to the attendees interested in not only building strength and flexibility but also growing confidence and alleviating anxiety.

Juniko's involvement with Derby Academy follows up on their volunteer in-school self-defense and anti-bullying sessions in neighboring schools and community events which representatives of the studio held throughout the year.  These sessions demonstrate to students how to avoid confrontations, and how to handle themselves when confronted in difficult situations.  Juniko instructors used principles of the ancient martial arts (such as Jiu Jitsu) to teach students how to respond to bullying situations, focusing on creating awareness, mindfulness, and physicality.  "We enable uncomfortable situations in a safe environment to train and encourage children to recognize fear and then move through discomfort to solution.  By outsmarting discomfort we grow and find direction in the process," said Juliano Coutinho, Director of Operations for Juniko.

Derby Academy, located at 50 Burditt Avenue in Hingham, enrolls over 300 students from 23 communities in and south of Boston in grades pre-K to 8.  The Derby Academy Fall Fair also featured games, rides, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, and pony rides.

In addition to the Derby Academy Fall Fair, Juniko frequently spearheads and participates in a number of family and community-building events year-round, including the PMC Kids Ride, other school fundraisers, and personal causes, including a teen anti-anxiety workshop scheduled for December 1 and the annual Juniko Drop 'n' Shop event, this year in support of Joseph's Miracle, which is taking place again this December 9.

"For Juniko, crushing childhood anxiety is a community affair," Coutinho remarked.  "With kids as young as four or five experiencing anxiety, we are working hard to make Juniko a forum for building confidence in children so that they can enjoy their childhoods to their fullest, and not be robbed by anxiety.   We welcome involvement in community and scholastic forums to share this knowledge on a wider scale outside of our Juniko academy.
