"Unbought & Unbossed" - The Stage Play - Black History Month 2018 at the Black Rep in Berkeley!
BRG Mainstage Productions presents, a riveting retrospective journey into Shirley Chisholm's road leading up to the presidential campaign of the first African American woman to win the Democratic Party's nomination.
BERKELEY, Calif. - Nov. 17, 2017 - PRLog -- Before Hilary Clinton. Before Barack Obama. Political pioneer and unsung hero Shirley Chisholm was the "Catalyst For Change". Shocking the world and creating a media frenzy; Shirley had the intellect, dignity and fierceness to trail-blaze her way through the political arena. As a community advocate and the first African American Congresswoman, elected in 1968 (NY); Shirley believed that, "Nothing is more important than solving the domestic problems of poverty, ignorance, racism and hunger."
A midst the murk and mire of the 'Good Ole' Boy' sociopolitical majority; Shirley forged on spearheading a legislative movement of socio-economic equality for the masses. Determined to bring her message to the forefront, Shirley ignored the opposition and risk factors, and asked,"...why not dare to dream as so many have before me?"

Ticket Prices range from $12.50 to $50. VIP Admission includes priority seating and one complementary beverage. Youth, Senior, Military/Veteran and Student discounts are available. Private parties are welcome with special rates for groups of 10 or more.
VIP Finale Gala on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 8:00 PM; features a Pre-Show Reception and the delectable "From Sea To Soul Food Buffet" presented by Family Pot.
