DULUTH, Ga. - Nov. 16, 2017 - PRLog -- Metro Atlanta-based Rainbow Village has launched its "Give the Best Gift Ever" campaign in hopes of putting the "happy" back into the holidays for the families it serves. Recent victims of homelessness, poverty and domestic violence, these families are endeavoring to put their lives back on track through Rainbow Village programs that include transitional housing, self-sufficiency and adult life skills, mental health counseling, child and youth programs, and an early childhood development center.

"There are a number of ways our neighbors throughout Metro Atlanta and North Georgia can help us give Rainbow Village families the opportunity to make special memories and feel right at home for the holidays," said Michelle Alcorn, Community Engagement Director for Rainbow Village. "They are welcome to do the shopping and drop their gifts off at our offices, or leave the shopping to us by making a monetary contribution by clicking on the Best Give Ever link in the upper right-hand corner of the RainbowVillage.org website."

For those who prefer to do the shopping, Alcorn suggests the following gifts:

MasterCard, Visa or American Express Gift Cards in $25 increments so Rainbow Village parents can experience the joy of shopping for gifts for their children

Arts and craft supplies to fuel the creativity of students at Rainbow Village's Early Childhood Development Center and After School Programs

Linens and supplies - such as twin bed-in-a-bag sets, mattress pads, shower curtains and bath towels - to help furnish a home for incoming families at Rainbow Village

Gifts can be delivered to the Rainbow Village Community Center by December 8, 2017. The Community Center is located at 3402 Fox Street in Duluth and is open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Donors can also make an appointment to drop off gifts by calling 770-497-1888.

Monetary donations also help make the holidays even brighter for the families who are a cherished part of Rainbow Village, and can be made online through the Best Gift Ever link on the Rainbow Village website until December 22, 2017. In addition to being used to fund some of the gifts outlined above, financial contribution could help send Rainbow Village children to a fun day camp during holiday break and so much more.

Another way to give is through the AmazonSmiles Program – in which Rainbow Village is a registered AmazonSmiles nonprofit organization. By making a purchase on the AmazonSmiles website, holiday shoppers can check items off their shopping list while doing something wonderful for Rainbow Village. With each qualified purchase, AmazonSmiles Foundation will give .5% back to Rainbow Village.

For those Metro Atlanta and North Georgia neighbors who prefer to give of their time and talents, Rainbow Village has a number of terrific volunteer opportunities. To learn more about Rainbow Village and ways to show support for the families it serves, please visit www.rainbowvillage.org.
