Western Nevada FC defeats East Bay 4-0

By: Western Nevada FC

SPARKS, Nev. - Nov. 13, 2017 - PRLog -- Scoring early and often, Western Nevada FC was able to knock off the East Bay FC Stompers Juniors 4-0 in the first leg of the 2017 Northwest Conference Cup. East Bay is currently the Red Division leader in the Northwest Conference; WNFC plays in the Blue Division.

Anthony Chinchilla opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finally giving WNFC the illusive early goal that they have been looking for all season. Bryce Campbell was able to knock one home in the 43rd minute to send the home side into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The second half proved to be more of the same, as East Bay FC were unable to contain WNFC's brand of "Fast and Furious Futbol". Campbell sent another one into the back of the net in the 66th minute, and Chinchilla closed the scoring in the 75th.

WNFC continually used a high press throughout the match, which the visitors had no answer for. The combination of this with the high altitude proved to be too much for East Bay as they could not keep up with the home team.

The home-and-home series shifts to Hayward, CA at a date and time to be announced. With the 4-0 lead in the two-game, aggregate goal series, WNFC is firmly in the driver's seat to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament. As long as WNFC does not lose by five or more goals, they will move on in the tournament. A 4-0 defeat at East Bay would move the series into overtime.

WNFC's next divisional match is scheduled for this weekend in Sacramento against FC Sacramento. Date and time has not been announced yet.
