Heywood Healthcare Honors Employees for Years of Service

GARDNER, Mass. - Nov. 10, 2017 - PRLog -- Heywood Healthcare honored 159 employees on November 9th during its annual Service Awards recognition dinner.

"We love to celebrate longevity and achievement because it is part of the culture," said Heywood Healthcare President and CEO Win Brown. "Our employees give so much of themselves to our patients and our communities, often dedicating decades of their lives to healtchare. They deserve a night dedicated to recognizing their important contributions."

Employees were treated to a gourmet buffet before being recognized for their service , some as long as 50 years, to Heywood and Athol Hospitals, The Quabbin Retreat, Winchendon Health Center, Heywood Rehabilitation Center and Heywood Medical Group.

Mary Croteau and Sue Sinclair celebrated 40 years while Nancy Cloutier received recognition for 50 years at Heywood Hospital.

Employees are celebrated for their service every five years, and are able to choose a gift on each occasion.

The Daniel P. Moen Employee Excellence Award is also presented annually by Heywood Hospital to a five-year anniversary employee who most closely exemplifies the commitment, hard work, vision and dedication that are the legacy of past president Dan Moen's administration. This year's recipient was Sue Sinclair from Finance, who was celebrating her 40-year anniversary.

Sue is well known at Heywood Hospital, and not just because she coordinates all of payroll! She started her career at Heywood as a cashier, moving on to a Staff Accountant position, and then on to her current position of Payroll Coordinator, which she's held since 1991. Staff can always rely on Sue to go above and beyond and will do whatever is asked of her.  She is a tremendous asset to the finance team. In addition to her critical role in finance, Sue is an active member of the Heywood Hospital Aid Association and Chairs the Annual Evergreen Fair.

Athol Hospital also honored Kaleigh Maio, a 10-year service anniversary employee with the 2nd Annual Meehan Award, which recognizes the five-year anniversary recipient who best exemplifies the work ethic, dedication, vision and outstanding service that exemplifies Board of Trustee and long-time supporter of Athol Hospital, Jim Meehan.

Kaleigh has worn many hats over the last decade at Athol Hospital - she's worked as assistant to the CEO, Medical Staff Coordinator, HR Coordinator, and now in her current role as Senior HR Business Partner. In addition, Kaleigh has been instrumental in the success of the Athol Hospital Golf Classic, stepping in as chairwoman five years ago to transform and grow the event and is still serving as an active committee member today.

She remains a constant resource for staff regarding any Human Resources issues for the Athol campus and  truly does have an open door policy. She consistently works to support staff and to make the Athol Hospital a better place.

This year, employees honored totaled 2,095 years of service.
