United Premier Soccer League Announces Texas Conference Expansion with FC Knights
Killeen (Tex.)-Based Pro Development Team Joins UPSL for 2018 Spring Season

Based in Killeen, Tex., FC Knights will begin UPSL play in the Texas Conference.
United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "The UPSL Texas Conference continues to grow with exciting ownerships groups and talented teams. FC Knights has proven to be among the toughest and most resilient Pro Development teams in Texas. We wish owners Lance Carlisle and Chris Glynn all the best as they prepare FC Knights for kick off in 2018."
FC Knights is co-owned by Killeen, Tex. natives Lance Carlisle and Chris Glynn.
Carlisle, 33, is a Service Administrator at Killeen (Tex.) Freedom Jeep. He took over the team in its early years and has guided the club into the Texas Premier Soccer League (TPSL) before making the decision to join the UPSL.
FC Knights Co-Owner Lance Carlisle said, "We've always looked to get better every season and the UPSL is where it's at. We want to challenge ourselves and the community to get better. You can ask any team we've play – we go toe-to-toe and they leave knowing they played us by the end."
Glynn, 25, is an 8th Grade U.S. History Teacher in Killen, and serves as the club's General Manager.
FC Knights General Manager Chris Glynn said, "The UPSL is nationally recognized and we've always talked about from moving to something bigger. The major selling point is to give our community something bigger."
The team is exploring venue options in compliance with the UPSL's Minimum Standards. The club will soon announce its upcoming game schedule.

FC Knights is an American Soccer club currently based in Killeen, Texas, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. FC Knights will begin play in the UPSL's Pro Premier Division.
Founded in 2010, FC Knights can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
United Premier Soccer League
The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 100 teams in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 125-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
