I have a passion for both formal and street portrait. I believe there are several critical factors involved in achieving a memorable portrait. The most important of these is the need to quickly make your subject as comfortable and relaxed as possible (and i am not suggesting having a glass of wine on your sofa!) A calm, fun, working relationship and environment need to be created quickly to make the most of our time together. No need to keep saying "cheese!" or perfect your pout, just relax and enjoy yourselves! Secondly, a good documentary portrait photographer needs to be able to manipulate any kind of natural light. The ability to shape available light to create lovely images regardless of the weather means far fewer restrictions.
