WESTCHESTER, Ill. - Nov. 6, 2017 - PRLog -- Regent Surgical Health (https://regentsurgicalhealth.com), the nation's largest private joint venture operator of surgery centers and leading management and development companies, today announced that James (Jay) Colehour (https://regentsurgicalhealth.com/team-members/jay-colehour/), with more than twenty years' experience as a healthcare business leader, has joined the company's business development team as Vice President.

In his new role, Colehour will leverage his medical expertise along with a deep understanding of the healthcare market to help drive Regent's growing portfolio of health system and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) joint ventures.

"Jay's healthcare business background and clinical spine experience make him uniquely suited for his new role at Regent," says Regent Surgical Health CEO Chris Bishop (https://regentsurgicalhealth.com/team-members/chris-bishop/). "He is a great fit for our company's RISE culture and shares our vision for excellence, as well as, our drive to outperform industry standards. I'm confident he'll make a significant contribution to our success and serve our partners well."

Prior to joining Regent, Colehour was the Director or Market Development at Zimmer Biomet Spine, a global brand for personalized bone and joint solutions. An innovator in musculoskeletal healthcare, Zimmer Biomet offers products for joint reconstruction, bone and skeletal repair, sports medicine, spine, and dental reconstruction. Colehour joined Zimmer Biomet with their acquisition of LDR Holding's innovative spine business, where he had a similar role.

"I joined Regent for the strength of both its leadership team and culture, and I look forward to having immediate impact on the business," Colehour says. "Longer term, I'm committed to the idea of transforming healthcare delivery and improving the patient's overall experience through outstanding outcomes at decreased cost."

Colehour served four years in active duty with the United States Marine Corp before entering the pre-medical studies program at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences, Lombard, Ill., in 2001. When a sports-related shoulder injury prevented further work as a practicing chiropractor, he combined sales experience gained during college with his medical/chiropractic training to enter the pharma/medical device side of the healthcare industry.
