LOS ANGELES - Nov. 3, 2017 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce FC Grande as a new member starting with the 2018 Spring Season.

Based in Las Cruces, N.M., FC Grande will begin UPSL play in the Southwest Conference.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "The United Premier Soccer League continues lead the way in Connecting American Soccer with well over 100 teams slated for play in Spring 2018. We're excited that FC Grande out of New Mexico has made the jump to the UPSL. FC Grande is a vibrant club in the soccer-crazy Southwest, and we look forward to building the level of competition in the region. We welcome FC Grande to the UPSL and wish Owner Alexis Ruiz and the club the best as they prepare to kick off in 2018."

FC Grande is owned by Las Cruces, N.M. native Alexis Ruiz, a college student and entrepreneur. Ruiz, 21, is a 2016 graduate of Las Cruces High School and currently an undergraduate Business Major at New Mexico State University.

FC Grande Owner Alexis Ruiz said, "We have a lot of dedicated and talented players here in Las Cruces and I thought it was important for me to give me and my friends the opportunity to play at the next level. FC Grande is that first opportunity for players here and El Paso, and we want to bring a better brand of soccer to the area with the UPSL."

FC Grande started in a local adult league in 2015, and immediate success by the team had Ruiz looking for the next level.

"I was always looking at the UPSL and thinking of making FC Grande something bigger," Ruiz said. "The more I looked at the UPSL the more I thought that about how cool it is and about how we can do this."

The team will play UPSL games at Field of Dreams (2501 Tashiro Dr., Las Cruces, NM 88007) in compliance with the UPSL's Minimum Standards. The club will soon announce its upcoming game schedule.
