Follow on Google News | Church of Scientology Thanks Local Charities for support with Downtown Block PartyThe Church of Scientology will be holding its next Downtown Block Party on Nov. 18th in honor of Thanksgiving. The event will take place on Cleveland Street between Fort Harrison Avenue and Garden Avenue. The event starts at 5pm and all are welcome.
By: Church Of Scientology "The Church of Scientology sponsors this party to give thanks to the local non-profits that are working to improve our community," said event organizer Nicole Biancolini. The first Downtown block party was held in July 2016 celebrating the one year anniversary of the opening of the Scientology Information Center on Cleveland Street and the Humanitarian Centers on North Fort Harrison. Since then, the event has become a bi-monthly affair celebrating the seasons and community holidays. Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. This holiday began as a harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in October 1621.
