SWANSEA, Wales - Oct. 30, 2017 - PRLog -- The British Training Board offers a specially designed service to make the transition into civilian life with a new fulfilling career as easy as possible for ex-Forces personnel. It does this through its Armed Forces Community Academy (AFCA), which is now being launched across the UK due to its success from the company's base in Swansea, and demand for such a service nationally.

The four regional managers – who have undertaken specialist training for the new roles and are all ex-Forces themselves – will be delivering the AFCA in garrison areas including Swansea, Aldershot, Catterick, Colchester, Tidworth and Marchwood, as well as in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The company's AFCA uses its skills translator – the only of its kind in the UK – and guaranteed interview scheme (GIS) to help veterans find new careers. The skills translator enables ex-Forces personnel to get their military certificates and training translated into qualifications recognised by employers in the civilian world. The online tool is designed to make it easier to find civilian jobs that align with skills gained in the military, often without the need for additional training.

The GIS had been created through The British Training Board partnering with numerous UK businesses from a variety of sectors. It is a free scheme for businesses seeking skilled staff while providing those leaving the Forces with a foot in the door to a potential new career through a guaranteed interview with a business signed up to the scheme. This has many advantages for businesses, such as reducing recruitment costs, and those seeking jobs after leaving the Forces gain invaluable interview experience and job opportunities.

Adrian Rabey, chief executive officer of The British Training Board, said:

"This has been a significant investment for The British Training Board and we are really pleased to welcome all of our regional managers on board during this exciting time. Rolling out the AFCA throughout the UK means we will be able to help more serving and ex-military personnel. Having our regional managers in the garrison locations will provide greater convenience to help service leavers find employment and have access to useful local services.

"Securing work upon leaving the Forces is not always straightforward, but the AFCA seeks to change that. Our experience in helping veterans means we have been able to tailor-make the AFCA so that it is effective and makes a real difference to those entering civilian life upon leaving the Forces. With a bigger workforce of those with first-hand experience of successfully transitioning into civilian life, we can assist more and more people and add to the thousands we have already helped to secure a second career outside of the military."
