South Florida Author Amy Minty finds success Specializing in Provocative fiction

PALM BEACH, Fla. - Oct. 26, 2017 - PRLog -- South Florida fiction author, Amy Minty, doesn't refer to herself as a traditional romance writer because her genre is unique and somewhat edgy. "Romance" in the eyes of her main protagonist, Pamela Castle, and her other characters, is far too general of a term.

Her series of four novels are written in various stages of Pamela Castle's life, and not in sequential order.  The reader never knows where the following year will take Pamela. This distinctive style keeps readers guessing.

Amy said she was drawn to writing a more sophisticated brand of novel with an eye towards interpersonal relationships, crime and sex. She describes her writing style as honest—with a small dose of love and a touch risqué. "I like to say I write the sexy truth," Amy remarks.

How does Ms. Minty do this? By creating rich characters, some of whom are likeable and others that readers love to hate, creating a push pull dynamic in all four of her books. She challenges the authenticity of relationships, and debunks the notion of "face value." Amy draws on the fact that one never really knows the people closest to them.

Why did Amy choose this particular career and engineer her books in such a fashion? Amy says, "Having lived in Manhattan for ten years, Queens for eight, and Florida for six, I've lived vicariously through others' experiences. Many of my characters are based on real people who act exactly how I describe them."

When asked what made her want to launch and build a writing career, Amy remarked, "I was always an artist interested in every medium of art.  I was an actress in NYC for many years trying to break into the business. I did independent films, plays and a lot of one liners in films. However, I just found writing the most satisfying, as well as expressive. It didn't have the rules that often entrap actors or dancers. You don't need an audition to write," she adds.

Originally from New York City, Amy currently resides in Palm Beach County where she crafts her latest novels. Fans are drawn to her choices of settings ranging from Manhattan to Hawaii to South Florida. Her female characters are powerful in their own right, and they're also developed to instill confidence and empower women today.  In each of her four books, the female protagonist comes out on top no matter where her journey takes her.
