BALTIMORE - Oct. 24, 2017 - PRLog -- Versatile Mobile Systems, Inc (VMS) (a Barcoding, Inc. company), a leading provider of innovative mobile solutions, announces that Home Run Inn has implemented its end-to-end delivery software, Mobiquity® Route, and rugged Zebra hardware devices to provide mobile connectivity for its company, Power Play Distributors. By utilizing VMS' remote data software and mobile adaptors, printers, and computers, Home Run Inn has improved delivery efficiency, and enhanced auditing processes resulting in an increased delivery capacity.

Evolving from a single Chicago pizza restaurant into a chain of additional locations, Home Run Inn expanded into the frozen food market in 2002. With that expansion, Home Run Inn opened their own production facility and created a new company, Power Play Distributions, to handle the distribution of their frozen pizzas to retailers in 20 different states.

As the demand for deliveries grew, Power Play Distributors' drivers experienced mobile connectivity complications while out on deliveries. In certain locations, such as parking garages and alley delivery docks, drivers had no mobile connection to process delivery and accounting data. This drop in connectivity slowed delivery routes and complicated direct store delivery operations. Additionally, Power Play Distributors wanted to upgrade its accounting and warehouse systems to connect with real-time data.

To remedy these issues, Home Run Inn and Power Play Distributors implemented VMS' Mobiquity Route software solution for field operations. The software provides data to drivers with or without a wireless connection, allowing them to:

•Review delivery schedules

•Check product sales histories

•Confirm prices and discounts

•Automatically generate invoices with pricing accuracy

•Process order changes, payments, and returns

In addition, Power Play Distributors outfitted its drivers with several models of Zebra's ruggedized mobile devices. Mobiquity Route™ is powered by the MC9598 mobile computer, which is used by the drivers to scan product off their vehicles, take new orders at the retailer and transmit orders via real time cellular connections. To transmit the invoices Power Play uses Zebra's DX30 Bluetooth DEX adaptor to instantly transfer invoices to customers, and the Zebra ZQ520 mobile printer to create receipts and collect customer signatures.

Jonathan Lamendola, IT specialist, Power Play Distributors, said, "With Mobiquity Route our ability to make more deliveries in a day has increased. The solution also provides our staff with real-time data needed to conduct the product and lot tracking and handle audits more efficiency. Now, instead of taking hours, audits are completed in 20 minutes. The end-to-end solution is win-win for Home Run Inn Pizza and Power Play Distributors."
