LAKE WYLIE, S.C. - Oct. 24, 2017 - PRLog -- It's like something out of a science fiction film: The robots are everywhere, and they're quickly taking over. More and more industries are being upended by the increase in automation, and to some extent even marketing is included in that. But as email and ad targeting programs standardize many aspects of the marketing process, there's one thing that robots cannot do as well as humans, and likely never will—and that's write original, effective content. In a new statement to the press, Grammar Chic, Inc. explains why human beings still corner the market on content writing.

"The writer's job, like that of the therapist or the psychologist, requires empathy," comments Amanda Clark, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Grammar Chic, Inc. "It requires understanding and sympathizing with complex human emotions, which is one problem that artificial intelligence hasn't even begun to tackle."

There are other reasons why robots cannot take over for human content writers—including some technical ones. "There is the matter of natural language, and the fact that the way humans speak and communicate is very difficult to break down into an algorithm or formula," says Clark. "There are so many nuances to languages that even if a machine gets the wording technically correct, it's not always going to sound real or authentic."

Above all, content writing is hard for a machine to replicate because it calls for creative, out-of-the-box thinking—and while machines can do many things, generating original ideas is not necessarily one.

"The work of the marketing copywriter, for example, is to create content that aligns with the needs and the values and the pain points experienced by specific consumers," says Clark. "The need for humanity and compassion cannot be overstated. That gives writers some real job security, even in an era where we hear more and more about the advances of AI."

The bottom line, according to Clark, is that automation is already making marketing easier—but it's not putting writers out of a job. "When you need marketing done, you need more than just efficiency and precision," she explains. "You need originality and empathy, too—and those aren't things that AI can reproduce."
