-- Wanted since June, 2017, Cornell Oneal Young is now in custody. Investigators from US Fugitive Apprehension located Young at a residence on the 1800 block of Wilson Avenue in St Paul early Saturday afternoon. The bail enforcement agency conducted surveillance in the area, and apprehended Young after making entry into the home just before 12 pm on the 21st. Young was taken into custody, without incident, following a manhunt that lasted for several months. Young was transported by US Fugitive Apprehension agents to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office Adult Detention Center in Minneapolis, where he is facing charges for Knowingly or intentionally violating registration requirements as a predatory offender, as well as a Dakota County warrant for felony domestic assault, inflicting serious bodily harm or death to the victim. The Predatory offender status stems from a previous conviction for Criminal Sexual Conduct, where the victim was 13-16 years of age.
In June, 2017, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Cornell Oneal Young, accused of knowingly and intentionally providing false information and otherwise failing to meet the registration requirements set forth by District Court as a violent predatory offender in Ramsey County, after failing to appear before District Court. A Dakota County warrant was issued shortly thereafter when Young allegedly went to an Inver Grove Heights gentleman's club and assaulted a female, resulting in felony charges.
Young was transported to the Ramsey County Jail after being apprehended, and is being held pending an appearance before a District Court Judge, and will eventually be transported back to Dakota County to face felony charges for the assault that allegedly caused serious bodily harm or death to his victim.
