About the Author: First-time novelist Keith Roberts, a former guardsman in Her Majesty's Brigade of Guards, retired from the British Police after 25 years. He became operations manager at London Gatwick Airport, working with Continental Airlines and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in airline security and anti-terrorism. In 1990, he immigrated to the U.S., becoming a citizen four years later. In 2000, he was awarded a top-secret clearance, becoming a contract investigator for several U.S. government agencies. Now retired, he says, "I grew up in Coventry, an industrial city in the middle of England, and now live the cowboy life in Tucson, Arizona, with three horses, three dogs, and the occasional rattlesnake."
