Regroup Therapy wins Illinois Award for Telehealth Excellence
Regroup Therapy received Award for Excellence in Telehealth from the Partnership for a Connected Illinois
By: Regroup Therapy
Coming off a year of record growth and an increasingly significant impact on behavioral health populations, Regroup announced that they have won the Leadership Award in Advancing Telehealth through Innovation.
"Our core organizational KPI is impact", said founder and CEO, David Cohn. "We evaluate our success by tracking the number of patients that we are able to help in a given week. We're proud that our work has received the recognition in the form of the prestigious Excellence in Telehealth Award."
The Partnership for a Connected Illinois is a not-for-profit that works to provide better access to broadband across the state. Better broadband means that innovators and entrepreneurs can compete in the global market, attracting more jobs and business to Illinois.
"One of the major challenges in healthcare is the need for clinicians. The gap between need and access to care is growing. Regroup's model allows them to recruit psychiatrists, social workers and other behavioral health professionals from an area of relatively ample supply, and deploy them in an area of significant need across our state. This makes Regroup a worthy recipient of our innovation award", says Tony Licata, Chairman of the Partnership for a Connected Illinois
Cohn agrees, "The shortage of behavioral health clinicians in Illinois is severe. So, we work across the state with hospital systems, outpatient facilities, clinics and correctional facilities to provide their patient populations with access to our high quality behavioral health clinicians through telehealth".
Regroup currently has 30 full-time employees and a 3,000 strong pool of psychiatrists and behavioral health specialists who work with patients over video chat from a distance to provide diagnoses, prescriptions and support.
Regroup Therapy joins the Illinois Telehealth Network (ITN), Rush University Medical Centre's Tele-stroke Network, Presence Health and TelePharm as recipients of the 2017 Excellence in Telehealth Leadership Awards.
