BEAUMONT, Texas & GREENSBORO, Ga. - Oct. 16, 2017 - PRLog -- Southeast Texas was hit with a devastating natural disaster, Hurricane Harvey, on August 29th 2017 which flooded most of Orange County. The majority of homes and businesses in the area were impacted in some way with numerous being completely destroyed. The need in the area was tremendous and immediate.

Granger Chevrolet received a phone call from a dealership in Greensboro Georgia letting them know that they felt it in their hearts to give to Orange County. "We had a tornado hit us a few years back and we understand the needs of your community and want to give back" stated Jeremy Parrish. So the kind people at Jimmy Britt Chevrolet started a collection and October 6th, 2017 a large truck and trailer pulled up to Granger Chevrolet with necessary items like water, baby food, diapers, and some clothing.

The staff at Granger Chevrolet immediately got in touch with The Orange County United Way, headed up by Maureen McAlister, and brought the much needed supplies to their distribution center. "We were so thankful for everything they sent from Georgia and know this will help the people of Orange County" stated Maureen McAlister.

"It is always amazing when people come together in times of a tragedy to help those they have never met" stated Dean Granger, Owner of Granger Chevrolet, "and the people of Orange County will pay it forward in the future when the time arises."

Jimmy Britt Chevrolet collected these items with the help of a few small businesses in the Greensboro area. A special thanks goes out to Deer Run Florist, The Lodge on Lake Oconee, Bone Island Grillhouse, The Meat Shed Specialty Meats, the Sew Zone, and the entire staff at Jimmy Britt Chevrolet for giving to a small community in Texas.

Al and Dean Granger would like to thank Jeremy Parrish and Jimmy Britt as well as the staff at Jimmy Britt Chevrolet for taking the time to reach out and for sending a driver with the supplies all the way from Georgia.
