Follow on Google News | Eta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity 2017 Achievement Week BanquetBy: Eta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Eta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated is pleased to announce that Ernest Green, who, in September of 1957, was one of nine Black students who needed a U.S. Army escort to desegregate Little Rock, Arkansas' Central High School, will be the Keynote Speaker at the Chapter's 2017 Achievement Week Banquet. The Banquet, to be held at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Hotel on Sunday November 12th, will honor Metro Atlanta residents and Omega Psi Phi Brothers for distinguished service this calendar year. Brother Green, the first Black graduate of Central High, joined Omega Psi Phi while attending Michigan State University. Splitting his career between the public and private sectors, he's worked for Presidents Carter and Clinton, and currently is an executive with Matrix Advisory, an assets management firm. A member of the Clark Atlanta University Board of Trustees, Brother Green and the rest of the Little Rock Nine received Congressional Gold Medals in 1999. Eta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi was the first Black Greek-letter organization to be founded and chartered in the state of Georgia.
