Stormy Banks, Fashion Design Teacher Receives Certificate of Recognition from Mayor of Bellflower

LOS ANGELES - Oct. 12, 2017 - PRLog -- Stormy Banks, a respected LAUSD Fashion Design Teacher at Santee High School and Business Owner received a Certificate of Recognition presented by Ron Schnablegger, Mayor of Bellflower California on Monday, October 9, 2017. Stormy was recognized for her outstanding work as a fashion design teacher and business owner who improves the lives of children and people.

Stormy is owner and operator of Kinfolks Country Store located at 16737 Bellflower Blvd in Bellflower, CA. The 1400-square-foot store showcases collectible dolls, rare paintings, unique candles, and more. Another aspect of Kinfolks Country Store is their professional bridal consultation on designing the perfect wedding dress.

This past summer, Stormy launched a successful 4-week summer sewing camp for children, teens and adults at Kinfolks Country Store. Attendees ages 6 and up had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of sewing in a lively and fun place that instilled valuable lessons of focus, creativity, awareness and a great appreciation for sewing. Some of the basic sewing skills included the basics to getting started, how to use a sewing machine, cut out the fabric, stitch seams, sew pieces together, how to follow a pattern, safety, proper posture, and more. The summer sewing camp is offered year-round beginning June 12 – July 7, supplies furnished and lunch included.
