NEW YORK - Oct. 12, 2017 - PRLog -- Hiteks Solutions Inc. (http://hiteks.com) announced the addition of Laureen Segall as Director of Products and Compliance this week. Laureen will add clinical, technical, and regulatory compliance strength to the Hiteks team of healthcare management and technology veterans. More specifically, she will focus on accelerating product development on Hiteks' next-generation A.I. and NLP Insight platform, which integrates with the EHR to empower clinical teams to improve productivity, accuracy and clinical and financial outcomes as the healthcare industry navigates the changing landscape of revenue cycle management.

Hiteks is an innovative medical informatics company that is revolutionizing how hospitals, physicians and nurses approach CDI, sepsis surveillance and clinical research. Their Insight: Real-Time Revenue Rescue software suite offers real-time access to clinical information. Laureen started working with Hiteks in 2015, when Hiteks' software had just started its powering of Epic NoteReader. She supported various roles in Project Management and Compliance. Then in 2017 Laureen managed Hiteks' entry into 2 new and important clinical areas powering Epic NoteReader CDI for physicians and Hiteks' EHR-integrated VigilantQA system for sepsis detection, management and reporting.

A Warm Welcome From Hiteks' CEO
"Laureen's experience in product development with Haemonetics and later with Zirmed will provide Hiteks with a high level of technical knowledge that will help us to improve our expanding suite of medical informatics solutions even further. Laureen's knowledge will allow us to pinpoint crucial clinical and business requirements, which we'll then be able to add to our software as detailed technical specifications. We view Laureen's addition to our management team as a step forward in our commitment to becoming the leading company in real-time clinical information processing software. Her expertise will be instrumental in perfecting the important functions of Quality Surveillance, Clinical Research, and Clinical Documentation Integrity, all of which are features of our state of the art real-time acting medical informatics suite," said CEO and Hiteks Co-founder Dr. Gerry Petratos.

"The increasing demand from our clients for precision in CDI, quality surveillance and decision support has led us to look for top talent for further product innovation. Our objective was to optimize support for our development team so that they could improve their effectiveness in functioning as a cohesive team. With over 20 years of experience working with FDA regulated software, we believe that Laureen has precisely the level of expertise we need to reach the objective of producing effective and responsible medical software. We're confident that her contribution to Hiteks will strengthen our compliance with HIPAA and FDA regulations on medical software, which is one of our top priorities, as we believe in exercising the utmost security when it comes to protecting business processes and technical architecture for PHI and other sensitive information," continued Petratos.

About Laureen Segall
Laureen's professional training began at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, where she received a B.S. in computer science and mathematics. Subsequently, she acquired an extensive background in healthcare technology projects at IDM, a software company that was later acquired by Haemonetics, the current leading blood banking software company in the world. After Haemonetics, she gained experience in claims code management and reimbursement as Product Director at Zirmed, where she realized the efficiencies that could be achieved through more automation of their clinical review and validation processes.

"As clinical analytics and artificial intelligence expand to the point-of-care, Hiteks is the most well positioned company to advance clinical algorithms and real-time feedback mechanisms to physicians and nurses in the EHR. Besides its collaboration with Epic and integration with MEDITECH, Hiteks has a roadmap to offer its solutions to other EHRs and third party technology partners as a set of advanced web services. I'm excited by the opportunity to be involved with Hiteks at this stage of its growth, working closely with clients and listening to their needs," Laureen stated following her recent promotion to the position of Director in August 2017.
