By: The Walters Group Located at 100 Mallard Court, the two-story apartment buildings are part of a mixed-use development being installed in stages by various developers. The Ponds at Jackson 21 sits on over 10 acres and when completed will offer 88 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes, ranging in size from 854 square feet to 1,172 square feet. Each apartment will feature private entrances and upgraded interior finishes. The residents will have access to a large community clubhouse equipped with computer work stations and fitness center. Other amenities will include a children's tot lot, barbecue and picnic area and basketball court. Another advantage for residents is the community's location near local schools, shops, restaurants and recreation areas. "This is an exciting development that will benefit the entire community by increasing the inventory of high-quality housing for people from all walks of life," said Ed Walters, Jr., president and founder of Walters Group. "Green building is another quality-of-life aspect that we address by integrating green, healthy, and cost effective measures into all of our residential developments." Geared for working families, The Ponds at Jackson 21 will fill a need for income-restricted housing in the township as well as give priority to Sandy impacted residents who have been displaced by or experienced major severe storm damage from Superstorm Sandy. A portion of the development was funded by the Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits program which has produced over two million affordable housing units nationally and over 50,000 units here in New Jersey. Last year, Walters Group completed Cornerstone at Barnegat, an age (55 +) and income-restricted housing project providing 70 new energy efficient units. Earlier this year, Cornerstone at Lacey, a 118-unit income-restricted community also opened its doors. Most recently, Cornerstone at Toms River was completed and opened in the end of July. Walters is planning the development of several similar housing projects in Ocean and Burlington Counties, including Seaside, Jackson and Delanco. The Walters Group is managing every aspect of the project from design and construction to property management. For more information, call the leasing office at 732.240.2787. Or, visit wgapts.com. End
