Chef Eureka, Academy of Pastry Arts wins "Pastry Queen India 2017"

DELHI, India - Oct. 9, 2017 - PRLog -- The queens of the patisserie world were recognized at the prestigious Pastry Queen India 2017 hosted by Academy of Pastry Arts which was held on September, 2017 i​n ​its Gurugram campus. I​t witnessed pastry queens from length and breadth of the nation who competed for the coveted prize of India's top Pastry Queen 2017.

The winner of the pastry competition was Chef Eureka Araujo, from Academy of Pastry Arts, who won the title of  ​"Pastry Queen India 2017". ​She was awarded with the top prize and will represent the country in Ladies World Pastry Championship, Italy.

The competition was a rigorous test to prove one's dexterity in the art of making french deserts and artistic show piece, their proficiency, technique and ingenuity in creating masterpieces worth of accolades.

​The panel of judges for this contest included​ Chef Gordon Gela, Executive Pastry Chef, Andaz, Delhi; Chef Avijit Ghosh, Corporate Pastry Chef, Hotel Leela Ventur; Chef Manisha Bhasin, Senior Executive Chef, ITC Maurya, New Delhi; Chef Parvinder Singh Bali, Corporate Chef Learning & Development – The Oberoi Centre of Learning & Development.

​Speaking about the event, Major Dinesh Sharma, Co-founder, Academy of Pastry Arts, commented, ​"It was a pleasure and privilege for us to host such distinguished contest in our campus. Celebrating a healthy competition between the woman chefs​ of the industry, this contest provided them a​ platform to showcase their innovative skills​ and talent. Chef Eureka will under go intensive training in the Indian academy. She will also spend time at our Malaysia academy where she will get to hone her skills under the guidance of chefs of the level of World Champions and MOF. We want to make an impact at the International Stage"



Chef Eureka Araujo,​ on winning the competition said  "Though I am excited but this is just the beginning and I  look forward to working much harder and being able to bring the best in me at the international platform at the coming World Pastry Championship Sigep ,Italy in January 2018." About the challenges faced during the competition,

she said "There were plenty.Finishing in time was one big challenge.Right proportions of the ingredients was a key.Besides,installation of the final piece was also a challenge.This is not my destination but the journey to reach my destination. I am very happy that I have brought laurels to the Academy of Pastry Arts and to my family. "


​The event was organised by Hammer Publishers. ​

The academy has established itself as the finest hub of education in the field of pastry and culinary. They strive to maintain this by bringing in new trends in the field, partner with the best chefs in the industry and reach out to more people by opening new centers in Asia and teaching them the art.​
