CHARLESTON, S.C. - Oct. 10, 2017 - PRLog -- The English translation of "The Right To The Truth: For families and friends of patients with cancer," by I.C. Papachristos, MD will be released internationally on October 26th, 2017. The book, published by author I.C. Papachristos, MD, will be released simultaneously in paperback form by CreateSpace in South Carolina and as a kindle edition by Amazon.

The author argues that cancer patients have an inalienable right to be informed of their diagnosis, disease stage, treatment options, and prognosis. These arguments are reinforced by "Clinical Counterexamples," stories inspired by true events that expose through shocking examples how dysfunctional, dishonest healthcare practitioners are failing their patients. Sadly, patients' rights are routinely violated throughout the world with appalling consequences. The author addresses these offenses in depth and also offers practical advice to colleagues on how to disclose bad news to patients using a method that can be implemented in clinical practice.

The foreword to this book was written by Prof. Peter Goldstraw, past President, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer.  George A. Rossetti edited the author's translation from the original Greek to English.
