Real-time D4H Software Aids Response To Massachusetts Terror Attack Drill

CAPE COD, Mass. - Oct. 6, 2017 - PRLog -- The possibility of terror attack has all nations in a state of alert, but being prepared for the worst can certainly save many lives. Last week, response teams in Massachusetts were tested by Operation SCORE, a fictional terrorist attack - a car bomb exploding outside a town hall meeting, in one of the largest mass casualty exercises the state has seen. The real world leaked into the drill as news from Europe of the most recent London subway bomb spread.

With over 700 first responders including the Massachusetts National Guard on the rubble pile at Joint Base Cape Cod, these complex operations involve large multidisciplinary teams of Urban Search & Rescue, Technical Rescue, Hazardous Materials, and an Incident Support Team with a chief for each logistics, planning, operations, and administration. "It is real for us," said First Lieutenant Medeiros with the Massachusetts National Guard. "We are a no-notice mission. We get the call and we move out. It's not if. It's when."

With this known complexity, the operation utilized the D4H 'Live Response' software platform; the latest in real-time technologies for managing the information flows during an incident.
