Book Excellence Awards Announced

Mainstream and Indie Authors Score Top Honors in Competition

LOS ANGELES - Oct. 5, 2017 - PRLog -- The Book Excellence Awards announced the winners and finalists in over 40 categories of THE 2017 BOOK EXCELLENCE AWARDS on October 1, 2017. This year's contest yielded hundreds of entries from authors and publishers around the world, which were then narrowed down to the final results.

Founded by Literary Excellence Incorporated, the Book Excellence Awards recognizes authors from all backgrounds and genres. Books receiving a Book Excellence Award have been recognized for their high quality design, writiing and overall market appeal.

The awards were started by executives at Literary Excellence Incorporated who have valuable expereince in the publishing industry. They specialize in book promotion, marketing and publicity. What distinguishes the Book Excellence Awards from other book awards is the desire to help authors market and publicize their books.

Books are judged based on: 1) design and layout, 2) quality of writiing, and 3) overall appeal of the book to the target audience.

Local author, Wanda DeHaven Pyle was honored as a finalist in the Fiction category for The Steel Canyon Legacy, Book II of the Legacy Trilogy. "I am honored to be recognized for the prestigious award!" Pyle said.

Following the first installment of this series, The Steel Canyon Legacy continues the tale of an extraordinary female protagonist. After the death of her husband, Tessa's life takes a dangerous turn. Devils from her past resurface forcing her to be courageous in the face of grief, loss and betrayal. Her journey to independence leads her through a treacherous world of drugs, mobs and gambling.

"The Steel Canyon Legacy is a gritty and poignant reminder of a lost decade," Pyle said. "It is filled with passion and intrigue, and the divergent story lines will keep the reader guessing until the very end."

Wanda DeHaven Pyle is the author of Windborne and The Stone House Legacy. She resides in Claremont, California with her husband. She spends her free time with volunteer efforts that provide our most vulnerable children with support, opportunity and hope for breaking the destructive cycles of povery, abuse and neglect.

This final book in the series is due out in 2018 on Amazon and Kindle.
