Conference Highlights 10 Years of Helping Businesses Grow

The Grow Your Business Conference is being held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 and is designed to help attendees get the sales, service, and marketing tools they need to grow! This event will feature just a few of the favorite speakers from over 10 years of hosting the Grow Your Business Series in the Downriver area.
BROWNSTOWN, Mich. - Oct. 4, 2017 - PRLog -- The Downriver Community Federal Credit Union and the Charter Township of Brownstown's Downtown Development Authority will be hosting the Grow Your Business Conference on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Brownstown Event Center (23451 King Rd., Brownstown Charter Twp.).  This event is for business owners, managers, sales or business development representatives, and anyone who is responsible for the growth of their business.

The Grow Your Business Conference will feature a wide range of topics, including workshops that will help attendees manage their time ("The Tactics of Time Management That Work!"), improve their usage of the internet and social media ("LinkedIn Profiles, Prospecting & Proficiency" and "Protecting the Digital YOU"), increase their communication skills ("How to Have a Conversation with Anyone" and "Four Types of People: How to Motivate Anyone, Anytime, for Anything"), and become better sales and service professionals ("Adding a Spark of Disney to Your Company").

This event is made up of outstanding speakers who all live in Southeastern Michigan and are leaders in their community.  Although each of these speakers are from this area, they are in demand all across the country on their particular area of expertise.  Speakers include Tom Borg (Corporate Training Consultant), Hailey Yatros (Author, Inspirational Speaker, Millennial Life Coach), Richard Paul (Event Planner and Nationwide Speaker), Cliff Suttle (Author, Leadership Expert, Award-Winning Speaker), Heather Doering (Branding Expert), and Tom Lawrence (Tech Enthusiast and Entrepreneur).

"This conference is all about helping people get the tools that they need to build a successful business," says Mark Tremper, the Vice-President of Marketing for Downriver Community Federal Credit Union.  "Our objective is to help our local business community by providing events like this in a collaborative effort with other business and community organizations."

Sponsors of this year's conference include Bizarre Marketing, KSP Insurance, and Sign-A-Rama Allen Park.  The conference is also held in partnership with the Downriver and Detroit Business Association and the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber.  Sponsors and partners of the event will have display tables at the conference to provide additional information about their products and services and to interact with the attendees.

The first conference was held on February 13, 2008 and was co-sponsored by the Downriver Community Federal Credit Union and the Downriver and Detroit Business Association.  It was called the Downriver Small Business Conference and Expo and was started by Mark Tremper as a way to provide business-growth oriented workshops and help business owners promote their business to the local community. The Grow Your Business Series continued from that first event and was designed to help people grow their business in the face of a challenging economic environment. This series features a variety of topics, presented by local, national, and international personal and business growth experts each month.
