$20,350 Strikeout Challenge Check to Be Presented to Starting Right, Now Before Rays Game Friday
Crown Automotive Group will join forces with Chris Archer & the Rays Baseball Foundation for the "Strikeout Challenge" check presentation on Friday. Crown pledged $25 for every strikeout recorded by Archer, bringing the total to $75 per strikeout.

Chris Archer partnered with the Rays Baseball Foundation at the beginning of the season in an effort to end teen homelessness. The Foundation agreed to match Archer's $25 donation every time the pitcher recorded a strikeout. The automotive dealership group joined in support by pledging an additional $25 per strikeout, bringing the total per strikeout to $75.
"We feel fortunate to be able to help those in our community that are most vulnerable. Teen homelessness is a serious issue and all too prevalent. We are happy to help give teens a home and a brighter future," said Jim Myers, President of Crown Automotive Group.
Presenting the check to Vicki Sokolik, Founder and Executive Director of Starting Right, Now, will be Archer, Rays President of Baseball Operations Matt Silverman, and Crown Automotive Group President Jim Myers.
Rays fans also donated $2,125 to the cause.
