WREXHAM, Wales - Sept. 22, 2017 - PRLog -- A successful sports equipment business set up by a former Ellesmere College pupil has played a leading role in kitting out the school's major new indoor tennis facility.

Net World Sports supplied tennis nets and posts, plus a whole host of court equipment such as umpire's chairs, scoreboards, and players' benches, to help create the top-class centre at the Shropshire co-educational school, which incorporates four full-size tennis courts plus changing facilities.

The Wrexham-based online sports retailer also provided backstop and court divider netting spanning the entire length and width of the new building, plus mini tennis nets and other tennis training equipment that budding young players will use to master their serves and volleys.

Ellesmere College is already one of the UK's premier tennis training academies for up and coming players, with the new indoor centre complementing the six floodlit all-weather courts and nine artificial courts already in place.

The expanded facilities will enable the school's Lawn Tennis Association (LTA)-qualified coaching team, headed up by Director of Tennis Stephen Welti and featuring former Slovakian ATP tour professional Jaroslav Novak, to serve up tennis tuition 12 months of the year as they aim to develop the next 'Andy Murray' or 'Jo Konta'.

Involvement in the prestigious project has meant a case of going back to school for Net World Sports' Managing Director Alex Lovén, who attended Ellesmere College between 1999 and 2004. A former pupil at Selattyn C of E Primary School and Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, he launched the company in 2009 from the family home in Kinnerley near Oswestry.

The business has since achieved rapid growth and become such a success that it now sells more than 100,000 of its FORZA football goals a year to customers throughout the world. It only relocated from its Shropshire home to North Wales in 2015 due to ongoing expansion and the need for additional space, with its Wrexham HQ now spanning more than 120,000 square feet. The company is ranked as the second fastest-growing privately-owned business in Wales by the prestigious Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list, while it has also received accolades for its strong export performance, with more than half of the firm's sales coming from overseas markets.

Alex Lovén, Managing Director of Net World Sports (, revealed: "Ellesmere College was where I actually took my first steps in business, selling cricket bats to fellow pupils, not something that was actively encouraged at the time!

"While Net World Sports is very much a global business, we're extremely proud of our local roots and it's been a pleasure for us to be involved again with my old school. The new tennis centre looks superb and we're sure Stephen and his team will put it, and our tennis equipment, to full use. It's fantastic to add Ellesmere College to the list of top class courts where our tennis gear has been used, which includes Wimbledon, the Australian and French Opens, and the Indian Wells Masters, not to mention countless schools, tennis centres and private courts across the world."

Stephen Welti, Director of Tennis for Ellesmere College, commented: "Net World Sports has supplied a range of equipment for our new indoor tennis facility and offered a first-class service. We will undoubtedly be going back to them over the coming years as the Tennis Academy grows."
