SYDNEY - Sept. 20, 2017 - PRLog -- Brother International Australia is a strong supporter of local entrepreneurs and next generation business people. As a company with strong CSR values, the company is excited to announce its most recent client win, River City Labs, focusing on nurturing the journey of Australian startups.

River City Labs is an accelerated technology startup incubator that fosters a supportive environment for entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into reality.. Located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, it offers businesses in early stages of development a support ecosystem that includes entrepreneurs, mentors, lawyers, business advisors, venture capitalists, and their very own serial entrepreneur Steve Baxter of the Shark Tank fame, to evolve their concepts from a grand idea into a commercially successful and scalable business.

Following a comprehensive audit and collaboration with the company, Brother's Commercial Market Development Channel Manager, Luke Howard, saw that Brother's own innovation and skills around printing could potentially optimise the user experience. Brother saw this as an opportunity that could help River City Labs and its startups based on a balanced deployment mindset. Focusing less on the dollars and cents, and more on users, the specific needs for printing solutions were clear and Brother built a perfectly adapted product mix, with the MFC-L9550CDW and MFC-J6930DW printers rolled out as a complete solution to satisfy the startups' need and assist workflow management.

The technology implemented at River City Labs needed to be connected instantly and securely. The MFC-L9550CDW and MFC-J6930DW met the requirements while remaining incredibly user friendly and easy to use, creating a set-and-forget solution for everyone involved.

With a focus on reliability and versatility, the selected Brother printers were able to handle varying print volumes without the startups facing downtime. Brother's MFC-L9550CDW boasts high-speed capabilities of 30ppm, reducing idle time for River City Labs members. Although a low cents per print was not Brother's main objective, the MFC-J6930DW Colour Inkjet also combines A3 and A4 printing capabilities with high-volume printing and lower running costs, which make it a win-win situation for both River City Labs and the startups.

To accommodate the nature of River City Labs, which is structured predominantly around hot-desking, Brother brought forth a mix of printer technologies with strategic placement around the open plan office in key locations. Looking at the situation from the perspective of the startups' workflow, Brother also worked to minimise the distance members had to physically walk to collect their print jobs in order to reduce wasted time that could be better spent on the collaboration that is so important to many startups. Including redundancies in the solution was also considered high priority, so that should something go wrong with a printer, there was a backup ready and waiting.

River City Labs' no standard office regulation and BYOD hub environment meant lack of consistency in the types of technology members were using. To overcome this, Brother provided a custom solution to support the various array of devices that members bring to the office on any given day. The MFC-L9550CDW supports both Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint, meaning the BYOD system was no longer a printing issue. The aim was for the print solution to serve an adaptive principle keeping in mind Brother's user perspective solution, rather than applying a systematic one size fits all approach.

River City Labs now has the printers that it needs to meet printing demand as the business continues to grow. Brother Commercial Market Development Channel Manager, Luke Howard says, "We knew right away that we wanted to work with the company because of the good that it was doing for Australia". Brother International Australia continues to value its relationship with River City Labs and looks forward to fostering relationships with other entrepreneurial businesses in the future.
