MAUI, Hawaii - Sept. 19, 2017 - PRLog -- Earlier this year we brought you the debut music video from Texas native and longtime Seattle resident John Hickman, "Hello Hello." After an accomplished career as an Aerospace Engineer, John embarked on a new life in Maui, Hawaii.  In the midst of his engineering career, his wife bought him a guitar for Christmas. A spark was then lit in his creative mind, and he followed his passion and dove into music; slowly at first, then much more intensely following his retirement from engineering.

John Hickman released his debut album, Remnants, to much acclaim from the press. Vents Magazine called it a "stylistically nimble release", and while Hickman takes much influence from The Beatles, they also noted similarities to 80s progressive artists like Yes and Asia. Music Existence praised his "intensely human and deceptively large range" saying, "His vocals are capable of invoking all the energy necessary for great rock and roll, but he's likewise quite capable of a much more careful approach appreciating the dramatic possibilities born from memorable phrasing."

After the terrific success of "Hello Hello," which included going Top 40 on the AC charts, "Cascade" comes as the follow-up music video to the piano-driven soft-rock track. Regarding the song, Music Existence praised the "inherent likability to his singing", as his voice soars through the song's technicolor soundtrack of memorable drumming and infectious synthesizer. If the "Hello Hello" music video showed the peace-loving and happy side of the 1960s and 70s, "Cascade" shows the decades' psychedelic side, with animation by Micah Buzan. An oversized moon peeks through the mountains and various sea creatures float through space; all the while Hickman again appears in cartoon form, orbiting throughout the galaxy in a bubble.

"We used the lyrics of "Cascade" as a starting point for all the visuals." says Buzan. "I wanted to show the interconnectedness of nature through motion - from the rain falling down, to the sea animals swimming around underwater (and in space)! John also appears in the video a few times as an extension of nature. Humans are just as much a part of nature as all the other animals, even though we often think of ourselves as existing outside nature."

The Video debuted on The Huffington Post with great fanfare. Following are a couple of quotes from the review...

"... above it all floats Hickman, encapsulated in a Kubrickian bubble, playing the keyboards. Taken as a whole, when combined with the music, the video depicts a tumble of hearing-secret-harmonies mirages that whirl and spiral bereft of constraint."

"You do not want to miss this powerful example of what progressive rock should sound like."
