Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Thanks Greater Waterbury Community For Donations To Back To School Drive
The non-denominational non-profit Acts 4 Ministry extended their appreciation to the community for the monetary, school uniforms, school supplies donations they received for their annual Back To School "Swap and Shop" event in August 2017

"Thanks to all the generous donations, our team provided more than 300 Waterbury area children with over 1,100 resources to start the new school year off with new uniforms, backpacks, notebooks and other school supplies."
Each year during the month of August, the non-profit non-denominational Acts 4 Ministry hosts an exchange of school uniform tops and bottoms during their "Swap and Shop" events when school uniforms and supplies are provided free or at low costs to children throughout greater Waterbury region. Donations are collected throughout June and July that include monetary donations, new and gently-worn uniforms, backpacks, lunch bags, rulers, folders, writing tools and other supplies.
During the annual drive, Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. very gratefully accepted donations of $2,500 from William Tomasso of New Britain, and $1,500 from the Mustard Seed Fund of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Southbury.
Year-round the charitable Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. welcomes individuals or families who have suddenly lost their homes to a fire, flood or other unexpected devastation or upsetting life event to visit their Thomaston Avenue retail shop to personally select, at no charge, clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and items to meet other basic needs. The organization is dedicated to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs.
"We partner with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs regardless of their faith, race, creed, or national origin, or their willingness to participate in religious activities,"
Each year the organization distributes over 25,000 articles of clothing plus over 4,000 pieces of furniture to over 150 homes within Greater Waterbury. People of varying income levels are served, appointments are necessary. The Back-to-School Program is one of several Acts 4 Ministry's ongoing programs to distribute resources to families throughout the area.
"We are most grateful," continued Carabetta, "to everyone who dropped off uniforms to our offices and retail store and to our many partnering agencies, churches and those who donated monetary support. Throughout the 2017-2018 academic year, our team will continue to provide school uniforms to families on an as-needed basis and by appointment by calling Acts 4 Ministry at 203-574-2287 Mondays through Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Parent liaisons can always email to email@example.com to schedule after hours appointments."
Donations are welcomed throughout each year and can be brought to the Acts 4 Ministry offices and retail shop at their 1713 Thomaston Avenue location in Waterbury between 9:00 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Items can also be placed in the Acts 4 Ministry Donation Box outside their building. If needed, large collections of items can be picked up by Acts 4 Ministry.
