INDIE ROMANCE "SILHOUETTES" gets festival and distribution play!

PHOENIX - Aug. 24, 2017 - PRLog -- Summer Hill Films, a film and television distribution label based in Arizona has announced the acquisition of the powerful indie romance feature film, "Silhouettes" directed by Gustavo Bernal-Mancheno for worldwide distribution.  The film will have its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival which starts this week.  The screenings will take place at the Cinema du Parc, 3575 Park Ave, Montreal on August 26 @ 16:00 and August 27 @ 12:00.

"Silhouettes" is a love story of opposites that unfolds over a series of conversations, in the spirit of "Before Sunset" and "Lost in Translation".  Aamod is a retired executive and playboy who lives alone in his sprawling downtown Chicago apartment; Nadia is a whipsmart lawyer in transit to see her conservative Muslim parents for the first time in more than a decade. When her train is delayed, a chance encounter brings them together for a magical day in Chicago, wandering its secret corners and its most haunting spaces for a few fleeting hours. When you feel different, home is finding another outsider. What emerges through words is the power of their feelings for each other as Aamod grapples with whether he can let go of a tragic secret and embrace a future with Nadia. "Silhouettes" confronts issues of race, identity and culture, forming a new chapter in the American love story.

Ecuadorean director, Gustavo Bernal-Mancheno has made a number of short films, including the 35mm short, "Luzia", which was the recipient of a major grant from the Kodak Corporation. He is a veteran of numerous cable TV shows, including programming for National Geographic and the History Channel. He holds a BA in Directing and Digital Editing from Columbia College Film School. "Silhouettes" is his feature film debut.  The film is produced by Brett D. Thompson and stars Tom Silva and Fawzia Mirza.
