Gravitas Ventures Acquires U.S. Rights to Chris Bouchard's Crime Caper 'London's Finest'

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 2, 2017 - PRLog -- Gravitas Ventures has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to London's Finest. The film was directed by Chris Bouchard, whose previous titles include the Youtube hit The Hunt for Gollum and the upcoming The Little Mermaid for which he directed with writer Blake Harris starring Shirley MacLaine. Bouchard is also a skilled visual effects artist and lent his expertise to titles including Gravity, The Dark Knight and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. London's Finest(known in the U.K. as Hackney's Finest) was executive produced by the Academy award winning Framestore and co-produced by Shudder Films (God's Own Country).The film stars Arin Alldridge, Nathanael Wiseman, Enoch Frost and has an award nominated soundtrack featuring Alabama3, whom are best known for The Sopranos main title theme music.  The Gravitas deal was brokered by Jeff Porter.

London's Finest is a drug fueled British crime story following a dirty cop as he lays a trap for a small time street dealer. Realizing he's in danger, the dealer struggles to sober up as he is hunted by armed mercenaries across London, all while trying to sell heroin to a gang of gun-toting Welsh Yardies.

​Discussing his experience working on the film, director Chris Bouchard says, "London's Finest was a cool opportunity for me to step away from my sci-fi and fantasy work for a moment and have a crack at the gangster crime genre, with a writer who'd really lived the underground drug scene in London. I think all good comedy is based on some form of truth and London's Finest is based on a story by a guy who'd really lived in the underbelly, Thorin Seex. He knew east London when it was notorious for crime and drug trades in the 90s and had met a lot of characters like the exaggerated multicultural drug dealers in the movie. When I met Thorin I was fascinated by his uniquely ironic viewpoint on that world. The film's humour is pretty acidic, the story is purposefully almost spoof-like, and I enjoyed that contrast. The movie is an exaggerated filter on real life. It's sardonic, the violence is hard when it kicks in – so it's a question of taste, but it felt like the right way to tell this story.  It was an interesting experience to direct - bringing the characters to life with these amazing unknown actors was a fascinating challenge, and a great training ground for me as a director."
