American race driver Pete Olson [USA\], with co-drivers Bill O'Brien [USA], Scott Wrayton [UK], and Dan Wells [UK], today took a brilliant Unlimited Class win in the grueling 4 hour CEC Super Endurance Championship's opening round at Guangdong International Circuit [GIC].

With races held throughout China in Guangdong, Shanghai, Beijing and other circuits, the Championship consists of a series of 3, 4, and 6 hour endurance races, in which Teams earn podium points in the various events in order to earn entry to the grueling 12 hour season finale race, with its large cash prize team rewards. The championship-winning team will be determined by the results of the 12 hour season finale n December 31st, held at Guangdong International Circuit.

In today's opening round at GIC, BAR took pole position in qualifying as well as the fastest laps in official practice and the four hour endurance race, with each BAR driver doing 45-minute stints.

BAR led the race from pole position until an alternator issue meant repeated pit stops were required - however the team had already gained such a commanding lead in the beginning of the race that despite these stops, they were able to stay in front to take the Unlimited Class win.
