Women of Color Magazine's Survey Reveals Most Admired Employers
Top Employers for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in WOC's Most Admired List

More than 93 percent of the respondents had attended Career Communications Group events such as the Women of Color STEM Conference or BEYA STEM Conference. Over 90 percent of the respondents identified as African American, Hispanic, or Native American with at least half of that number graduating from a minority-serving or majority institution. Programs focused on increasing the number of minorities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) were a staple for over 66 percent of the survey respondents, with more than 35 percent in science, math, and IT programs combined.
It's clear that employers where survey respondents interned are thought to provide some of the best opportunities for recent graduates and entry-level professionals. Sixty-six percent had worked as interns in organizations considered as top employers to work for and the employers that the sample of Women of Color magazine readers admires the most. More than 71 percent identified as female and 28.1 percent male, and 87.8 percent thought diversity and inclusion in the workplace was important.
More than 31 percent rated work life balance and inspiration as the trait most important in an employer. Fairness, a listening organization, creativity, and flexibility were rated higher than pay and incentives.
