Follow on Google News | Charity Arcade aims to put the fun in fundraisingNew Garland fundraising start-up brings in charity dollars through old arcade favorites
By: Charity Arcade Charity Arcade launched March 10, quickly gaining hundreds of followers on Facebook. People wanting to fundraise for just about any kind of cause can have an arcade video game with 60 old favorites installed at their event or location. Instead of putting in a quarter to play, people can insert the donation of their choice and play away. For those who might not be into old favorites such as Ms. Pac-Man or Galaga can arrange for the use of a large model train set that operates in the same way. "Video games have drawn the interest of people of all ages for over 40 years now," said Patrick Scott Patterson, Charity Arcade's social media manager. "We feel strongly that drawing power can be used to help out any and all types of fundraising events." The company behind the new venture is Bubb Fundraising, a Garland-based fundraising concern that has operated in North Texas for a number of years. The eventual plan is to build enough demand to require dozens of these units to be built. All units are to be constructed using gutted video poker cabinets, rather than sacrifice surviving arcade video game classics. More can be see on the official website at http://www.Charity- End
