BROOKLYN, N.Y. - March 9, 2017 - PRLog -- No Bezel
Bezels are the black spaces around your electronic device's screen. Removing that extra space is like enjoying the best parts of your favorite sandwich with the crusts cut off. The iPhone 8 is rumored to have no bezels around its screen with a curved display. The Dell XPS is the perfect example of what having no extra space around a screen can do, the laptop has a 13" screen inside an 11" display.

Three Cameras

A few years back HTC tried out a dual lens phone with the EVO 3D, but the trend never really caught on until it started assigning a second camera to capture the depth of field data. For those who don't know the "Depth of field" data is the distance between nearest and farthest objects, giving you those sharp portraits. With iPhone 7 plus and LG V20, dual cameras are starting to become a trend and we can definitely see other smartphone companies adopt this feature to their product lines.

Improved Assistants
Microsoft has Cortana, Apple has Siri, Google has Assistant, and Tony Stark has Jarvis. All of them are assistants but only one of them is a full-fledged sentient AI. With the launch of the Pixel phone last year, Google is leading the charge in making its assistant improve in functionality and accuracy. Although we are still a little far away from having a personal Jarvis everywhere we go, Apple has been integrating Siri across all of its other devices starting with the Macbook last year.

Faster Internet (5G)
With Verizon and AT&T gearing up to deploy 5G in select parts of the country beginning in 2018, smartphones released later this year should have the capability to support these higher speeds. Samsung is boasting (https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-electronics-sets-...) a whopping 940 megabytes per second in stationary position and 150 MB/s when mobile. Had 5G existed, you would have finished downloading your favorite movie while reading the last couple of sentences.

No headphone Jacks

Notoriously hated for removing the headphone jack from the iPhone, Apple may have started a trend that others may choose to follow. The Moto Z also doesn't have a headphone jack either, much like the iPhone, users are given a dongle that has a headphone jack at one end. The only problem is 1. You have to carry a dongle around and 2. You can't charge your phone at the same time. However, companies like Apple are betting on consumers to identify no. 3, which is: get wireless headphones.

Wireless Charging
Samsung has already been offering wireless charging for the Galaxy 6 and up. The great part about charging wirelessly is the lack of need to carry wires around with you. Once it becomes an industry standard you can charge anywhere and not have to worry about finding a charging wire that matches your phone's port. Even though it can be a little less efficient and slightly slower in charging your phone, if the smartphone industry starts dropping headphone jacks to give way to wireless headphones, your charging wire can't be too far from becoming obsolete.
