By: Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation

PALM CITY, Fla. - Feb. 3, 2017 - PRLog -- Whether you are ready to show off your best shot or take your first shot, the OK Corral Gun Club is the place to be on Saturday, March 11.  The Board of Directors of the Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation invites you to join them for the Third Annual Mane Event, their major fundraising event of the year.

The sporting clays shoot is open to all ages and levels of shooters including: open class; novice; youth (ages 9 to 18); ladies/gentlemen (regardless of age); and a team of four people.

ERAF has developed a new equine therapy program for veterans and children with disabilities.  As a result, 20 veterans will be invited to take part in the day's activities and honored at a ceremony.

OK Corral Gun Club in Okeechobee is a beautiful facility with two sporting clays courses encompassing a combined 50 acres that will impress and challenge shooters from novice to advanced.  Participants will have a choice of a variety of firearms or they can bring their own.

Guests will enjoy a light breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and then enjoy the fun of clays shooting and the spirit of competition. Winners and losers alike will enjoy a delicious Bar-B-Q lunch with all the fixings and a cash bar. Awards will be presented to the individual and class shooters. Registration fees range from $193 for an individual shooter to $1,000 for six shooters with a sign. Early bird discounts are available until February 11. For complete details visit www.eraf.org.

Sponsorships are still available for golf carts, breakfast, ammunition, individual stations, the wobble deck, the 5-stand (for veterans) and a four-course dinner with fine

wines.   A silent and live auction will also be part of the activities and donations are being accepted.  Sponsors will enjoy a European style wine dinner party on Friday, March 10.

The Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation was founded in 2000 and has grown from a small shelter on leased land to an 17-acre property with a large barn and a community center on Martin Highway just west of the Florida Turnpike. At any one time, approximately 24 horses are enjoying a new lease on life, medical care, healthy food and lots of love and grooming from the staff and volunteers. Horses are surrendered from owners who can no longer properly care for them and often from slaughter-bound trucks.

Every horse is evaluated carefully to determine their medical needs and re-educated to become an adoptable horse, ready for a new permanent home. More than 182 horses have been rescued and over 160 adoptions have been made throughout the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach and Okeechobee counties and south Florida.

If you would like to become a sponsor, donate to the event or register, please  phone 772-220-0150, by email at eraf2000@gmail.com or visit their website at www.eraf.org.
