"When we got to the door, there were all his friends with their swords raised for us to walk under the Guard of Honour. The cheering and the noise and the flashing cameras were unbelievable.

He patted my hand. "I think we are flavour of the month. It must be you, I have never had this much attention before. Everybody loves you. Come on, darling, under the arch, please don't pull your face, keep smiling and think of sex," he was laughing.

Someone started throwing confetti, rice and rose petals and it was like a snowstorm. We got into the car.

He said, "Come here, Mrs Miles, let's give them a good photo," and we started kissing, and there were so many flashes all round everywhere. We then broke apart and waved as we drew away.

"Mr Miles, my husband, I love you so much and I am on cloud nine. I am so happy. I had the jitters earlier; if it hadn't been for our Ana, I don't know what I would have done. She is such a treasure, she really has looked after me today. Well, not just today but especially today."

I enjoyed this adult novel, which is the second of two parts.  It reminded me of a really good Jackie Collins book - with sex, sinners and scandal.

When a fifteen year-old girl falls in love with a married Naval officer on her first Mistletoe Run, she ends up working with him in the same office, and eventually they get together and make love.  She moves in with him and his mentally and physically disabled ex-wife.  They arrange to get married, and there is much that she finds out about him along the way.

If you like a good scandalous read, this book is for you!
