Sport Celebrations Converge: Babe Ruth's 122nd Birthday, Super Bowl Ignite Baltimore

BALTIMORE - Jan. 30, 2017 - PRLog -- It seems fitting that America's first celebrity pop culture icon, the larger than life George Herman Ruth, a.k.a. "Babe" Ruth, would have a birthday celebration that falls on the largest annual event in modern sports – The Super Bowl. Baltimore and Babe Ruth fans celebrate 122 years of Babe Ruth with the 22nd annual Babe Ruth Birthday Bash, hosted by the Babe Ruth Birthplace & Museum, on Friday, February 3, 2017, 5:30-9:00PM at the Baltimore Hilton. Admission is $65.

In a fashion that the "Babe" would have approved, the Bash is a sports celebrity studded event with VIP appearances including Kimmie Meissner (U.S. Olympian), Kevin Glover (UMD football), former Orioles Ross Grimsley, Scott McGregor and Chris Hoiles, Johnny Rhodes (UMD basketball), Steve Melewski and Jim Hunter (MASN), Bruce Posner (TerpsTalk), Jim Henneman (Press Box) and Ken Weinman (105.7/CBS Radio).

One special "guest" joining the Bash this year will be the Baltimore Colts' Super Bowl V trophy. The glamorous and coveted trophy will be on display at the Bash where attendees and paparazzi can take full advantage of this meaningful and historic trophy.

The Super Bowl V Baltimore Colts Vince Lombardi trophy will remain on display at the Babe Ruth Birthplace on Saturday, February 4, from 10am to 4pm. For the regular price of admission fans can have their pictures taken with the trophy.

"The Bash" features ballpark fare, beer, wine, soda, a silent auction, programs on the Orioles and Maryland Terrapins. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $65/each or online at http://baberuthmuseum.org/event/babes-birthday-bash/.  Parking is available at the Hilton's underground garage.
