National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day(L.E.A.D.) 2017

LANCASTER, Pa. - Jan. 5, 2017 - PRLog -- National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is a day for citizens to show support for law enforcement officers. Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) stated, "In light of recent negativity directed toward law enforcement nationally, there is a need to show law enforcement officers that our citizens recognize the difficult and sometimes impossible career they have chosen, in public service to us all." C.O.P.S. began recognizing this day in 2015 in hopes to increase the support for law enforcement.

Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S) is a non-profit organization that provides programs and events nationwide for police survivors. This includes spouses, children, parents, siblings, significant others, and co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty.

January 9^th of each year will be one of the days we will nationally recognize and support law enforcement. There are many ways to show your support including:

-          Wearing blue clothing

-          Changing your profile picture to the .jpg image provided at www.facebook.com/nationalcops

-          Send cards and/or letters to your local departments

-          Share a story about a positive law enforcement experience on social media

-          Participate in Project Blue Light

-          Organize and event or a rally

-          Advertise through local media outlets

But most of all, if you see a police officer, thank a police officer.
