Artist Fred Tieken is Headed to LA Art Show

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. - Dec. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Fred Tieken has been selected to exhibit his latest artwork and new installation with Coagula Curatorial at the prestigious LA Art Show happening January 11-15, 2017. Tieken will be exhibiting a series of portraits of famous artists done in his expressionistic signature style along with his latest installation "UNO's GMO Beach Party".

"UNO's GMO Beach Party, brings the energy of the bird to the LA Art Show, states artist Fred Tieken". "UNO's GMO Beach Party" was inspired by his original 2014 installation "No to GMO", which has since been exhibited in museums, art shows and galleries in both California and Arizona. The central figure of both installations is "UNO" the GMO bird, who has risen to fame over these last two years. Tieken will be exhibiting with Coagula Curatorial at Booth 113 curated by Mat Gleason. The LA Art Show is located at the Los Angeles Convention Center, West Hall at 1201 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles.

The LA Art Show is entering its third decade as one of the world's largest and longest running events with 150,000 square feet of exhibition space and close to 70,000 attendees last year. While dedicated to maintaining their commitment to technique and integrity, the show's principals continue to further refine their curatorial vision by presenting innovative galleries and artist performances that showcase premier Modern and Contemporary work.

Tieken's artwork is expressionistic and painterly in style, highlighting personal subjects and experiences through irony and wit. The artist's love of color, bold lines,and mixed media are seamlessly blended with his wry social commentary and smart symbolism. Tieken's art allows the viewer a brief glimpse into his colorful and dazzling world where one senses a pure excitement and passion for life, art, and music. "Painting is like baring my soul to the world," states Tieken whose level of emotional commitment is beautifully and vividly demonstrated in his work.

Working from his two studios in Venice Beach, California and Paradise Valley, Arizona, Tieken's work has been featured in more than 60 juried exhibitions and one-person shows from coast-to-coast. He also has shown in major art fairs including Aqua Art Miami, XContemporary, Spectrum Miami, LA Art Show and Palm Springs Fine Art Fair.
