NYC On-demand Pet Food Delivery Company Acquired By Midwest Based Wholesale Pet Supply Company
The company had an extensive network of regional shipping distribution centers across the United States. Customers had the ability to order 24/7 from their computer or smartphone and have their pet food delivered within 2 hours anywhere in the city; including to their offices, hotels, and heliports. Clients of Fido Foods also had the ability to have their pet food shipped anywhere within the continental United States. The company was started by a Newport Beach, CA based entrepreneur and his wife.
The acquiring company found the 3-year-old Internet startup attractive for its customer facing interface, recurring order management, nationwide shipping, government pet food contracts, veterinary pharmacy and its back-end technology. The company had a 30 million dollar valuation according to sources who spoke on the condition anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on the deal. The Fido Foods brand and retail operations were discontinued as of December 30, 2016, as part of the acquisition. No further details were available since the acquisition was confidential.
