George Michael - a tribute to the man, music and message by Prof ImafidonProfessor Imafidon tweeted, "George Michael's death is devastating, adding that his musical talent and works have left an indelible mark in entertainment and more importantly in music. His music, message teach everyone a BIG lesson."
By: ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk Professor Imafidon, world renowned adviser to government, monarchs and president, paying tribute, said, "There are lessons to be learnt from the man, his music and message. Music is a great communication vehicle and a uniting force and should be taught properly in all our schools, and not just the privileged few. Music should never be taught as an optional extra or treated as an extra-curricular subject." He added, "Talent (music) must always be nurtured very early in the lives of our children, while character is developed to go with extraordinary talent. He was only 17 years old when he wrote his most famous or best song (Careless Whisper). His talent and contribution to music has left an indelible mark in the entertainment industry and more importantly in the field of music. His music was enjoyed by everyone and his talent taught every student a lesson." NOTES TO EDITORS The Excellence in Education programme believes that music is core to the development of every child and runs seminars, webinars and workshop sessions for parents, schools, and other institutions interested in the educational advancements of learners particularly those from disadvantaged areas, including north London where George Michael was born.
