A Day of Cheer For Our Little VIPS

Grand Hyatt Bali hosts a Christmas party for underprivileged children in Bali

NUSA DUA, Indonesia - Dec. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- As a year comes to a close and as many people are gearing up for Christmas, welcoming the new year and getting into the spirit of giving and sharing with family and friends, we are reminded of those who are less fortunate, especially the younger ones.

It has been longstanding practise at Grand Hyatt Bali to provide the opportunity for underprivileged children to enjoy a day out with no worries and just basking in being children, which is an opportunity all children deserve.

This day dedicated to underprivileged children is meant to celebrate fun, games and togetherness. First conceived in 1992 by Peter Stettler, currently the area vice president of Hyatt™ hotels in Indonesia, the event has been an annual affair for the past 24 years. Through this initiative, Grand Hyatt Bali has engaged with the Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua to put together an orphanage children's party every year during December.

On Monday, 12 December 2016 in the Karangasem Ballroom, close to 400 children from different religious faiths and backgrounds were brought together in celebration, supported by Golden Bird Bali, which provided complimentary return transportation for the children. Children from 15 orphanages and schools for the disadvantaged around Bali were invited to join, with the young VIPs including children from Maria Goretti Orphanage, an institution supported by Grand Hyatt Bali; YPAC, an institution for disabled children; and Mercy Indonesia, an organisation that cares for children from the conflict areas of East Timor and Atambua.

After being greeted by members of the Sales and Human Resources teams, the children were taken to game rooms where they could participate in various games and win prizes provided by different departments at Grand Hyatt Bali.

In addition to lavish and festive decorations and a scrumptious buffet, the highlight of the event was the talent show, which was performed by the children for the children. From rapping and hip-hop dancing to Balinese dancing, the children entertained and amazed everyone with their enthusiasm.

The event concluded with a visit from Santa Claus and his helpers, who handed out surprise goodie bags for everyone while bidding them farewell and a safe journey home.
