DERBY, England - Dec. 21, 2016 - PRLog -- Many of today's modern vacuum cleaners are designed to incorporate HEPA filters. HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air and cleaners fitted with such a system must be capable of removing at least 99.97 per cent of the smaller, harmful allergen particles such as dust, mould and smoke from the air. Whilst all vacuum cleaner filters remove these allergens to some extent, it is only true HEPA filters that can guarantee to do so to such a high degree and with such small particles.

Anderson Trade supplies a vast selection of well-known brand vacuum cleaners to both the commercial and domestic sectors nationwide, including HEPA filter cleaners. Their experts are keen to explain the differences between the various types of vacuum cleaner filters.

"True HEPA filters, also known as absolute HEPA filters, must be able to pass a test of their allergen busting capabilities. They will be assigned a unique serial number once they are confirmed as meeting the 99.97 per cent allergen trapping rate. The test results are printed on the filter.

"True HEPA filter vacuum cleaners are generally more expensive than those built with other HEPA filters, but buyers do get this added guarantee."

Anderson Trade goes on to explain that there are also filters known as HEPA type filters. "These are made in a similar way to true HEPA filters and can look very similar," they say, "but there is not this need for them to meet the same standards."

"The capture rate of allergen particles for HEPA type filters is around 85 to 90 per cent, and their price reflects this, being less expensive than the true HEPA filter models."

So why buy a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter? Anderson Trade has this to say: "HEPA filters trap the smaller particles that are responsible for causing issues for allergy and asthma sufferers. The cleaner air that results makes for a much improved living and working environment, even for those who do not suffer from allergies."

Anderson Trade's experts conclude with this statement: "If you are adamant that you want a true HEPA filter, then look for the serial number and test results printed on the filter."
