NEW YORK - Dec. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Speak Up World, LLC, today announced that the Speak Up Women (http://www.speakupwomen.com) conference will be held on March 3, 2017 at the United Nations (46th Street and 1st Avenue).  Scheduled to kick offWomen's History Month, this day-long event is designed to empower and support women with understanding the importance and impact of speaking up in their personal, professional and philanthropic lives. Speak Up Women will provide attendees with information that will enable them to drive forward their passionate personal and professional agendas and causes; empower them to use their voice; and create change where necessary. Early bird registration and special pricing for students and veterans are available until, respectively, January 15, 2017 and March 1, 2017 - www.eventbrite.com/e/2017-speak-up-women-conference-tickets-30023662583. A light breakfast, lunch and a wine and cheese post-conference reception are included in the ticket cost.

Jennifer S. Wilkov, founder of Speak Up World, LLC, developed the conference after paying a dear price for not speaking up. In 2008, she survived being incarcerated in one of the nation's most violent prisons, Rikers Island, after being falsely accused and wrongfully convicted of a white-collar crime. Wilkov was inappropriately told to plead by an attorney who mishandled her case. She was subsequently exonerated by FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) and is currently working on an appeal in the NY State criminal court system.

Wilkov's tribulations galvanized her. "Too many women, like me, have failed to speak up or speak out for myriad reasons, including unwarranted fears, insecurities, and self-esteem issues," Wilkov says.  "Speak Up Women shows women how to use their voice. It provides women with a higher level of strength and determination to become change agents in their spheres of influence. It's the kind of conference where every attendee walks away stronger and more knowledgeable – and more fearless – than when they first entered."

Starting at 8:30 AM, the day is chock-full of keynotes, panels and break-out sessions, as well as time for networking. The scheduled agenda includes:

- Opening keynote by Jennifer S. Wilkov

- Panels on women's groups and veterans

- Speak Up in Business session

- Break-out sessions:

-- How to Speak Up & What's Holding You Back

-- Speak Up in Your Community

-- Speak Up in Health

A detailed agenda is found here - http://speakupwomen.com/agenda/.

Wilkov has assembled a dynamic group of speakers and moderators. "We have CEOs, best-selling authors, two brigadier generals, a disability-rights activist, a Wall Street Journal columnist, a Columbia University associate dean – it's an embarrassment of riches!" she notes. The following leaders are scheduled to appear:

- Anne Akers, Founder/Publisher of Castle Connolly Graduate Medical & Co-Founder/Publisher of MDPublish.com

- Violette de Ayala, founder, FemCity®

- Beth Battaglino, President & CEO, HealthyWomen.org
