Project Boon to Partner in Upcoming IVRS' Winter Holiday Event

FONTANA, Calif. - Dec. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- For the past several years, the Inland Valley Recovery Services (IVRS), an alcohol and drug recovery center that serves San Bernardino County, has hosted a Winter Holiday Event to provide a meal, flu shots, TB shots, free clothing and other wellness services to 200 underserved Inland Empire residents. This year, Project Boon is joining forces with IVRS and a dozen local health and service providers to make this important holiday event even bigger, all while spreading some holiday cheer to adults and children alike.

On Wednesday, December 21st from noon to 4pm at the IVRS offices at 939 N. D St. in San Bernardino, California, Project Boon will be serving 400-500 meals, providing music and 200 brand new, unwrapped toys for children, handed out directly from Santa Claus himself.

"Project Boon is sponsoring the IVRS Winter Holiday Event because of our focus on helping the underserved," said Chris Suchánek, Co-founder and Executive Director of Project Boon, who will be dressing up as Santa Claus and passing out toys for the IVRS Winter Holiday Event. "Whether we're providing health and wellness services to Inland Empire residents in our own backyard, or traveling to assist forgotten communities throughout the world, Project Boon is committed to helping those who need it most."

In addition to supporting the IVRS Winter Holiday Event, Project Boon also hosts several programs and events of its own, including:

·      Eat & Be Well (eatbewell.org), a Thanksgiving event that feeds over 2,000 Inland Empire residents annually. Along with serving a Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings, Eat & Be Well provides important health and wellness services through partnerships with local community organizations;

·      Operation Devolver, which serves impoverished residents of Barranca, a tent city in Tuxpan, Mexico, three times a year by providing household goods, school supplies and Christmas gifts; and

·      Supporting the best barber in Seville, Spain by launching an international reading program, in which children 10 and under who read a book during their parent's haircut receive a free haircut themselves.
