MOBILE, Ala. - Dec. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- Grand Bay, AL. Disney characters Elsa, Princess Jazmine and Cinderella are scheduled to land in Grand Bay for an appearance at Santa's Workshop on Saturday morning, December 17. The Disney Characters are invited guests at Tri-Coastal Community Outreach's 11th annual "On Wings of Doves" children's Christmas shopping experience at the First Baptist Church of Grand Bay, 10170 Grand Bay Wilmer Road, in Grand Bay, AL from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This year, snow covered real pine trees from Ramsey Tree Farm serves as the winter wonderland backdrop for 300 children and their families who come to 'shop' for gifts and toys in Santa's secret workshop. And, it is rumored that Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance to have their photos taken with the kids.

Musical entertainment will be provided by students from Full Scale School of Music including Catherine Pahs. 16, guitar/vocals; Elizabeth Pahs. 14. violin; Martin Pahs, 12, bass guitar; Sophia Pahs, 11, mandolin/vocals; Spencer Plasse, 15, keyboard; and David Smith, 17, cajon.

"This is a time that makes the Christmas holiday a true time of giving and sharing when children from across the Gulf Coast region spend time with Santa's elves and shop for his or her Christmas presents," said Carolyn Thompson, executive director. The children not only shop for themselves but they buy at least one other family member a gift, she commented.

Thompson said that "If we can offer a small amount of hope for children, then we have given some hope to the family." The program is unique in that each child is given Santa dollars to do their own shopping in the "secret shopping area" without their parents. "This year, each child will have a special coin to purchase a gift for someone they don't know," said Thompson.

"We want to begin financial literacy at an early age. If we can help teach children that there is a cost to those items that they expect parents to magically purchase; then I feel that we're doing our job as a community outreach. We must start preparing our next generations about being fiscally responsible. Children go through check-out lines just as we do," said Thompson.

"This day is only made possible by the many volunteers, including the Bryant High School Drama Department and local businesses who donated time, products and money to make this day a success," Thompson commented.

"A special thanks goes to Tory Revel of Rival Citrus and Farms for the 700 satsumas they donated for our children
